three weeks ago I started a 30x30 Challenge -Inspired originally by Kendi at Kendi Everyday and shared with me by Kate at the Small Things Blog...here's how it works:
1. Take 30 items in your closet.
2. Make 30 outfits.
well this is week three and so far it has been an awesome experience - however it was not so much the creativity in selecting my outfits that made this a unique experience but rather the process of getting the photos this week - let me explain...
I live by myself - which means unless I am around family or friends to take pictures of me (and sometimes it's not appropriate to ask for friends to take photos) I have to take my own photos and this actually just occurred to me this week - as it took me literally 50+ photo attempts to get the self-timing down on my camera, as well as find the right height to get a photo of me from head to toe, along with getting the right lighting, etc... - ahhh - let me just tell you it went a little something like this...
first attempt - kitchen by my clock (too dark), kitchen by the sink, with the window behind (could not get my shoes), bedroom with several angles (the list of problems is to extensive - let me just say it is not smart to balance your camera on a pile of cotton balls on the edge of your papasan chair - ahhh the aggrevation), and then I went outside, where I preceded to attempt to take photos at so many angles in my yard - you almost saw all of my outfits from my camera sitting in the grass and me laying on the ground - okay, no not really - but you get the idea - my neighbors now think I am oober vain and have a creepy fetish with pictures of myself...anyway - I am laughing now thinking about the experience and I hope you enjoy my outfits this week...

ReplyDeleteI feel you on the taking pictures of yourself thing. Do fashion bloggers just have people who follow them around all day with a camera? i don't get it. Loving that red dress. So pretty and definitely makes you stand out. Such a bold, pretty color! Just found your blog and have loved looking around and getting to know you better. I'm excited to follow along!

Yeah, it is kind of awkward to take self pictures for a blog without always having someone there to do it for you. You could pose in front of a long mirror. I've seen girls in public bathrooms take pictures of themselves (I know kind of extreme). Anyway, I love the dress! Please check out my blog if you get the chance!
