Bobby Anthony

Founder · Promoter · Talent Buyer · Radio Host · Producer since 1998

Robert Anthony Luera has been putting music into the world for close to thirty years — as R.L. Muzik in Phoenix Chicano rap, as Bobby Anthony on records that went Platinum on the other side of the planet, and now as Bobby OASA, on a microphone in his own city on Sunday afternoons.

OASA isn't a second act. It's the same work, brought home.

1998 — PHOENIX

It starts where a lot of Southwest rap starts: Nastyboy Klick. Tha Second Coming came out of Phoenix on Nastyboy Records — the label that put Arizona Chicano rap on the map, and the same release that carried "I Know You Want Me" with CeCe Peniston.

Bobby wrote and produced "Dream" alongside M.C. Magic, with female vocals by Mandie Hendrix.

A note on that credit: the sleeve lists him as Robert Loera. His name is Luera. A typo pressed onto a cassette in 1998 that has followed the credit into every music database since.

2012 — "TOULOUSE"

Nicky Romero — "Toulouse (Bobby Anthony Vocal Mix)"
Spinnin' Records · 2012

"Toulouse" became one of the defining instrumentals of its era. In mid-2012 Spinnin' released a version with Bobby Anthony's vocal on it — out on Spotify, Apple Music, Beatport and Nicky Romero's own SoundCloud.

2019 — OASA

Back in Phoenix, Bobby starts On A Sunday Afternoon. Not a nightclub night — a backyard, staged.
